Exciting changes are happening. Our goal is to encourage more diversity and participation from different breeds, while also recognizing dogs that demonstrate exceptional quality by winning Best in Show, even if there was no breed competition.
So now, if a dog wins Best in Show, without competition within its breed class, it will be awarded the breed win.
We are creating a way to help highlight a broader range of breeds and give them more visibility to them.
This opens more opportunities for dogs who may not have had competitors in their breed class but are still recognized for their overall excellence in the show ring.
It is a great way to potentially motivate breeds to come out and compete and make the competition even more exciting.
